COURSE DESCRIPTION
HIV Quality training (RTQII / RTCQI) is an advanced level counselling and testing workshop with the aim to improve counselling and testing. HIV Counsellors and Testers play a vital role in providing accurate results to affected individuals.
The Rapid Testing Quality Improvement Initiative RTCQI (Rapid Test Continuous Quality Improvement) aims to enhance the quality of HIV rapid testing, as accurate diagnostic testing is crucial for identifying infected individuals for referral and care. This combined training course is designed to equip healthcare workers with the knowledge and skills needed for effective HIV Testing Services and the proper use of rapid testing methods.
3 day – Classroom training (Theory and Practical)
- Participants are assessed by means of multiple-choice questionnaires as pre and post assessments. In order to be successful a pass rate of 80% is required.

Target audiences
- South African Health Care Professionals involved in or interested in HIV testing
- Trained HIV Testers (HIV Counsellors, Nurses, Supervisors, relevant testing staff) – To upskill, update certification
- Certification is valid for 2 years
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Good understanding of English (Guidelines are in English)
